Installation Access
Visitor Center Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30am to 4:00pm
The Radford Army Ammunition Plant conducts ID checks of all personnel entering the installation. All
visitors will be vetted at the Visitor Center, those coming in after Visitor Center hours will be vetted in
the entrance lane. Personnel who currently have a Common Access Card (CAC), Military ID, Military
Dependent ID, or Federal Government Issued PIV must still stop at the visitor center to access the
proper identification for the Installation. All visiting personnel entering the Radford Army Ammunition
Plant must:
CIVILIAN VISITORS:
- Have a visit request from an appropriate agency on the Installation.
- Be a U.S. Citizen, or completed the foreign visitor request process.
- Be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Have a valid state or government issued identification card.
- Have proof of current vehicle registration.
- Have proof of current vehicle insurance.
- Voluntarily submit to the required background check.
MILITARY / GOVERNMENT VISITOR:
- Have a visit request from an appropriate agency on the Installation.

- Have proof of current vehicle registration.
- Have proof of current vehicle insurance.
Travel Directions
Take Exit 118 - ABC off I-81 South or North. Follow access road and take second exit, Exit 118B, Route
460 West (Christiansburg/Blacksburg). Continue straight ahead to Route 460 West
(Blacksburg/HOSPITAL). Follow Route 460 for approximately 3 miles. Take the second Christiansburg
exit, Exit 4B (Route 114 West/Peppers Ferry Road/Radford). Near end of exit bear to the right and
continue straight you are on State Route 114 (Peppers Ferry Road); proceed through three (3) traffic
signals. Follow Route 114 approximately 7 miles to the Radford Army Ammunition Plant entrance on
the right (at traffic signal). Proceed to the Visitor Center, Building 300 on the right.
