Discuss your firm's capabilities with a Small Business Advisor to
determine if there are prime or subcontract opportunities with the JMC for
your company's products or services.
We highly recommend you check the Federal Business Opportunities (
FedBizOpps) Web page. The FedBizOpps is a listing of advertised Government
acquisitions over $25,000. The FedBizOpps also lists contract awards and is a
good source for subcontracting opportunities. Visit the FedBizOpps on the
Internet at:
www.fbo.gov
In order to do business with the JMC or with the Department of
Defense, a company must be registered in the System for Award Management.
Registration online at: www.sam.gov
We recommend that Small Businesses also complete the Small
Business Administration (SBA) Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS)
registration. DSBS is an electronic search engine for Contracting Officers,
a marketing tool for Small Businesses, and a link to procurement
opportunities as well as other important information for Small Businesses.
This registration can be done while in the SAM site. First, select Update or
Renew Registrations Using TPIN, then select Update/Renew, it will lead you
to the DSBS section when you've completed the SAM portion.
Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) capability is required for all
companies that do business with the US Government. It is the legally
mandated method of payment for all contracts.
The North American Industry Classification
System has codes that the US Government
uses to identify and classify categories
of businesses' products and services.
The Small Business Administrative (SBA)
applies a size standard to each NAICS code.
